The DC Couture Wedding Constorium is hosting a bridal show this Saturday from 12-5p.  The event is taking place at Decatur House and is an opportunity for you to meet vendors within the consortium, and view fashion from Promise for the Savvy Bride.  They also will be giving away a green wedding package valued at $50,000!  Visit their website to register.

Mindy Weiss is the author of the fabulous book The Wedding Book: The Big Book for Your Big Day.  Mindy is one of the most sought after wedding planners in the country and is well known for planning the weddings of Eva Longoria & Tony Parker and Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony, to name a few.

While at the Washingtonian event on Sunday, I had Mindy sign a copy, and I’m now giving it away! To enter, leave a comment below.  A winner will be randomly picked on February 3.  Good luck! Image from Amazon.

Last Friday I visited with Sidra of Sidra Forman Flowers.  I think that Sidra has a style all her own and not like any other florists in the area. I love the simplicity of her work and can’t wait to start working with her.  Images from Sidra Forman.

Yesterday we attended the really fabulous Unveiled event at The Park Hyatt, hosted by Washingtonian Magazine. Jessica and I really enjoyed all the food from Blue Duck Tavern, the peach bellinis and good company. We made rounds wishing our vendor friends good luck and viewing all the beautiful decor.

The highlight of the afternoon was definitely meeting Mindy Weiss and having her sign our books. (We also chatted with her for a bit in the bathroom!)  Check back for a giveaway and photos from this event!

Last Friday, Jamie (fellow wedding planner) and I attended a private tasting with Lara of Fluffy Thoughts. We really like working with Lara and think her cakes not only taste great, but look amazing.  We send many of our clients to her and thought it would be great to experience what they do.  Thanks Lara for stuffing us with your fabulous cake!  Images from Fluffy Thoughts.

If you have time this Saturday, January 25, stop by The Park Hyatt between 1130a and 3p.  Washingtonian Bride & Groom is hosting an event to launch the new magazine, and highlight some really fabulous vendors.  Tickets are $55 and are totally worth all the fun you will have. Plus, you’ll get to taste food from Blue Duck Tavern, sip on champagne and possibly meet Mindy Weiss.

I am fortunate enough to attend Obama’s Inauguration today.  My husband and I have tickets to the swearing-in ceremony, then plan on staying downtown to see all the festivities and celebrate with friends.  I’m really excited to see firsthand, history in the making.  Image from PIC2009.

Love Life Images is doing a fantastic giveaway! They are offering free photography to three couples getting married June 6, 2009.  The wedding must take place in the DC Metro area and your guest list should be at least 150.  Visit their website to enter via email or phone.  Jennifer and Mary are amazing photographers and you are lucky to have them, whether thru this giveaway or not!  Image from Love Life Images.

Yesterday we visited CoCo Sala to see the space and learn more about what they offer for private events. I had the prairie passion tea and Melissa enjoyed the caramel espresso.  We also shared a plate of yummy chocolates.

CoCo Sala is unique in that their menu is really focused around chocolate – from cheese fritters to french toast s’mores.  The space itself is also very cool. Their rooftop space is perfect for receptions and you can also rent out the entire restaurant as well.  Image from CoCo Sala.

I love Max Wanger’s work.  If you are looking for a wedding photographer, I bet you’ll love him too.  Images from Max Wanger.
