Having worked for myself for a few years now, trusting my gut instinct is something I’ve found very important. You probably hear this term a lot in your personal life, and it also applies to business and events as well. There have a been a few times where my gut told me not to work with a potential client or a particular vendor. Afterwards, I’m glad I followed that instinct. Unfortunately a couple of times I did not, and ended up not being happy with a client or vendor.
When interviewing vendors, listen to that gut instinct. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. It may not all make sense in the beginning, but afterwards you’ll be glad you followed that instinct.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I’ll be out of the office celebrating the rest of the week with family. If you are traveling, be safe and everyone have a wonderful time with your friends and family over holiday. Merry Christmas! Image from Martha Stewart.

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is all the sweets. Most wedding favors are sweets, and what better way to incorporate a little festive? Images from Martha Stewart.

This weekend is our Bash holiday party. Capitol Catering is providing the menu to include baby lamb chops with a mint julep chutney, lemongrass paper chicken and cheesecake lollipops. I can’t wait to thank the ladies for a great year while enjoying champagne and listening to The Waitresses.
I’m going to go a little off course this week since the holidays are upon us, and I love Christmas. These are some great gift wrapping ideas that can not only be used for Christmas, but for wrapping your wedding party gifts as well favors. These ideas use glassine paper, yarn, ribbon and doilies. If you are getting married this weekend and need some festive, easy, last minute name card ideas, these are for you. These use card stock and ribbon, twigs and pine, and ribbon. Images from Martha Stewart.

If you have not already, make sure you get downtown to view the National Christmas Tree. It is located on the Ellipse near the White House. Each night there is a performance by local choirs and dancers until December 23. Image from About.

We are so lucky to have many fabulous florists in the DC area. While Squareroot is not local, I did want to show some of their work as they are fantastic! I love how their style is varied and in all designs they really incorporate vibrancy and fullness. Images from Squareroot.
