There is nothing more aggravating than going to an out of town wedding and not given options for places to stay. That being said, make sure that you offer at least one accommodation for your out of town guests.  It’s a good idea to offer a place that is not only safe and nice, but is also reasonably priced. Your guests spend a lot of money when traveling, so help them out by offering a hotel that they don’t have to splurge on.

There is also no harm in offering a second choice that is a bit more pricey.  You’ll find you also have guests that are making a vacation out of your wedding weekend, and may really want to spend some extra money on fabulous accommodations.

Tiffany offers a wonderful selection of Celebration Rings, that they are marketing as a reason to celebrate the birth of a baby, anniversary or just because. While not traditional, I think they are great as a wedding band. (Mine for instance is five rows of pave diamonds and I wear it separately on my left hand, and my engagement ring on my right.) You don’t see much of this, and I love it. Jessica Claire captured an intimate, all-white wedding. Even the guests were wearing white. If you are looking to have a wedding that is fresh and clean, take inspiration from these images. Images from Jessica Claire.

Jung Lee (owner of Fete based in New York City) is the author of the fabulous book Fete: The Wedding Experience. She has an amazing style and because I like her so much, I’m giving away a copy of her book. To enter, leave a comment with your name and email address below. A winner will be randomly picked on September 5. Good luck! Image from Fete.

Using the inspiration from the post on outdoors and natural, I’d love to use these natural wood slices. They are perfect for holding pillar candles or using as a cake stand. I’ve got a wedding in September these would be perfect for… Image from Domino.

It must seem like all I do is eat cupcakes.

I had a meeting in Georgetown and so I decided to stop by Georgetown Cupcake because there was not a line wrapping around the corner. Even if there was, it would have been worth the wait. Not only are the cupcakes amazing, but the little shop is so fun. I love the pink boxes, black staff t-shirts and simple cupcake stands.  I highly recommend the lemon berry.  Image from Georgetown Cupcake.

Marie Labbancz is a fantastic photographer and she works with clients who have great taste and ideas. I came across this wedding on her blog in which the client held their ceremony outside. I love how they used the bay leaf garland on the chairs, the crystals hanging from the trees and the organic nature of the cocktail centerpieces. This is exactly how an outdoor, natural wedding should look. Images from Marie Labbancz.

If you are not already familiar with Etsy, then head on over and check out all the products that are being offered. Etsy is an online site where people sell (mostly) handmade items at great prices.

I came across the site of Sweet Papery, who makes custom stamps. These are great for out of town guest bags, favors or any of your stationery such as escort and menu cards.

Last night we attended the National’s Ladies Night. There was an area set up over looking the field, where vendors such as Curious Grape and Hard Times were set up with wine tasting and food. While this pre-game happy hour wasn’t all that exciting, we did have a great time exploring the stadium and drinking beer! View from happy hour deck and our seats.

Yesterday I enjoyed lunch with Julie and Mariam from the Four Seasons at the hotel’s Seasons restaurant. It was delicious! We talked a lot about the industry and I learned some things from the ladies for my business. I also had the chance to view the current changes in the hotel and learn more about their major renovations taking place to be completed by the end of the year.

I last saw Julie two weeks ago for a client’s wedding and of course, it was fabulous! Everything you expect of the Four Seasons, they deliver on. If you are still looking for a venue for your wedding, I encourage you to get in touch with Julie or Mariam and see all they have to offer. Images from Four Seasons.
