How fabulous are these bouquets?! I just love the feathers incorporated with the dahlias, lush peonies and funky blue botanicals.  Barbara did a great job bringing everything together for our bride Heather.  And of course, Kate takes amazing detail photos!  Image from Kate Triano.

The W Hotel opens today!  We’ll be there for happy hour tomorrow and know we’ll be running into a lot of industry friends.  If you can, make it to the W in the next couple of weeks to experience this fabulous hotel in it’s first days open.  Image from W.

I am working with a client who has the greatest vision for  her wedding. Think pies, soda bar, picnic tables and games.  Yes, games!  We’ll be incorporating croquet and bocce ball into the evening’s activities.

I really love this photo of our last Meridian couple as they mingled at their cocktail reception.  They were this happy the entire night.

Earlier in the day as Lauren’s limo arrived at the church, I had no idea what I was in store for as I walked towards the curb to greet her.  When the door opened, I was completely taken aback at how amazing she looked.  Lauren had a radiating glow and was so calm. The entire day, me and my staff could not get over how beautiful she was. Image from Tom Williams.

This weekend we’ll be out celebrating the 4th with family and friends. Festivities begin at Nationals Stadium followed by a bbq on the Hill.  Be safe and Happy 4th of July!  Image from National Independence Day Parade.

This is a really fun and appropriate wedding cake if you are getting married on the 4th of July. (Without the happy birthday message of course!)  Image from Pink Cake Box.

Yesterday I visited with Laure from the Willard.  She invited me in to see the property and meet with her, as I have never worked with her before.  If you are planning on having a wedding at the Willard for 200 guests or less, she is the person to get in touch with.

We started off with a tour of the beautiful property. I’ve been to the hotel many times before, but it’s always great seeing it privately so you can brainstorm ideas for clients.  The most commonly used spaces used for private events are the Crystal Room and the Willard Ballroom.  As you can see, they are stunning!   Images from Willard Intercontinental.

A while ago one of my readers asked for a referral for an engagement photographer. Ashley and Zach are not getting married in DC, however they wanted to have their photos taken in this area. I promptly referred her to Deb Lindsey. She is a wonderful photographer, and I know from previous clients Lindsay and Chris, that she does engagement photos REALLY well.

I love how they turned out – thank you Ashley for sharing. Aren’t they such a beautiful couple?!  Image from Deb Lindsey.

On Tuesday night, we hosted Experience the Corcoran.  It was a FABULOUS event!  The turn out was great and the brides were hungry for vendors.  For some detail and set up photos, check out the slideshow Rodney Bailey put together.  I am really looking forward to doing this again!  Team Bash – Cara, Melissa, Terri and Katie (l-r).

Two weeks ago I attended the ISES Table Top Competition, held at the House of SwedenRidgewell’s provided great food and yummy blackberry basil mojitos.  Some of the tables were just so creative and it was a lot of fun seeing all the ideas vendors came up with.  Congratulations to Fandango for winning!  Image from BizBash.
